I was pleased to be part of the team involved in the new sports precinct development by Parkwood Golf Club Pty Ltd at Parkwood on the Gold Coast.
The sports precinct, while purpose-built to provide a new home for the Titans Rugby League Club, comprises two new buildings and a new full-sized training field, which integrate with the existing golf course and golf club facilities.
The main sports building contains administration offices for the Titans, players' gym, altitude room, shared swimming pool and other facilities for the Titans. It also contains a large gymnasium tenant, trampoline centre tenant and swimming school tenant.
The second building contains medical and lifestyle tenants, including physiotherapy, imaging and radiology, chiropractic and yoga. There was some urgency to get the Titans a new home, as they had been in temporary accommodation and sharing training facilities. The development was constructed and fully leased in nine months. The sports precinct was officially opened by Mayor Tom Tate and NRL officials on 28 November 2016.
